Winter and HVAC

With the storms of winter fast approaching it is now the perfect time to check your heating, ventilation and air conditioning system is running efficiently. We recommend checking this yourself twice a year, once when the system is mainly in cooling mode for the warmer months and the second in winter when the system you have is mainly in heating mode. We have put together 3 useful tips below to help you with this:

1. Check your filters which is usually located in the blower compartment of your air conditioning unit. Signs of debris and dust can usually be hoovered away allowing the system to work as efficiently as possible. Some filters are harder to locate so calling in a professional in this case is recommended.
2. Check the air vents for anything that may be obstructing the flow of air. If there is anything please remove as this will only make the machine work harder if left.
3. Most recommended option especially for office, school or commercial premises is to have a maintenance contract. Cleaning and checking both internal and external systems requires knowledge of the air con units. This is the safest and easiest option.

Whether you have had a commercial or residential air conditioning installation, both will need serving once or twice a year to prevent and major faults or leaks. Preventing these occurring or finding them earlier saves you time and money.  If you have a maintenance contract with us, rest assured we will contact you when the time is right to schedule you in for a visit.
